Employee Spotlight - John Jenkins

One of Bell and Howell’s huge benefits of having been in the production mail space for decades, is how we’ve built able to cultivate such knowledgeable teams. One of these people is John Jenkins. We thought we’d highlight him and ask him a few questions to shed some light on the work he does on behalf of Bell and Howell customers.

What is your Job title / how long have you been with the company?

I’m a Regional Sales Manager and have been with Bell and Howell since August of 1998, so over 24 years now.

Can you explain your primary focus as a Regional Sales Manager with Bell and Howell?

My attention is primarily focused on working with current customers or prospects to understand the concerns and issues they are encountering with their operations. I help solve these issues and can point towards solutions that work for them.

What do you enjoy most about working with your customers?

I enjoy learning about each customer’s processes and educating them on how they can improve based on what I have seen be successful with other customers across the industry. I’ve been in this field a long time, so really feel like I’m able to lean on experiences and be able to recommend service and solutions that we offer and provide something that works best for them. I do really enjoy solving their problems.

What have you gained through working at Bell and Howell?

The art of asking questions to understand customer’s pain points.  I have always said it is like a doctor’s visit.  The doctor will ask several questions starting with broad questions and narrow down the scope until they understand the true issue. Narrowing down a situation and finding the root cause of an issue is a skill I’ve been accustomed to using.

What do you enjoy about your job?

The customer interaction – developing strong business partnerships between Bell and Howell and the difference organizations. Building solid customer relationships have been what have helped Bell and Howell be so successful for so long.

Is there anything that customers should be looking forward to in Bell and Howell’s near future?

Bell and Howell’s services have always been a major benefit and distinct advantage of a Bell and Howell solution.  Our bench with the service team continues to grow as we grow our business, and it really separates us from our competition. Our growth in services we can offer along with our continual enhancements to our high-speed solutions makes for exciting times for Bell and Howell.

What do you enjoy doing outside of the workday?

I enjoy sports and cheering for my favorite teams: Butler Bulldogs, Colts and the Pacers.
