Year in Review Highlights Tech, People and Service Success

As we lean into the holiday spirit, we wanted to tip a cap to our great people here at Bell and Howell with highlights from a year in review of 2019.

Launching our Grocery Division

The year started strong as we introduced the BH QuickCollect™ XL into our portfolio of automated pickup solutions. The drive-up pickup kiosk changes the way customers pick up their online grocery or general merchandise orders, as it enables order pickup in 45 seconds without having to enter the store. It also improves the landscape of possibilities for grocers. They can use the temperature-controlled solution to streamline employee workflow and cut down wait time for customers. It’s standalone deployment option also empowers retailers to cost-effectively break ground in areas that are traditionally labeled as “food deserts.” To learn more about Bell and Howell, visit bellhowell.net, call 1-800-220-3030, or follow the company on LinkedIn and Twitter.

Sharing Our Vision for Supply Chain Innovation

In February, Bell and Howell had a unique opportunity to share the promise of automated pickup technology with a live audience at the LINK2019 (R)Tech Supply Chain Innovation Awards. Standing alongside seven game-changing finalists, we presented a portfolio of solutions that speak to one of the biggest challenges facing retail’s evolving supply chain: the customer-facing, in-store pickup process.

The presentation focused on the growing adoption of self-service technology in the retail space. Retailers want a comprehensive solution set that also cost-effectively scales with their BOPIS service. This provides a quick, convenient, and easy in-store pickup experience. We were honored to take home the Audience Choice Award as a result and inspire others with the retail’s possibilities.

Watching our Training Division Thrive

Regardless of the service territory or product focus, each service and support engineer that joins Bell and Howell’s service team receives top-notch training at our learning facility in Durham, NC. Training Magazine’s Training Top 125 recognized Bell and Howell for the 15th time as one of the top 125 training organizations in the world, cracking the top 50 this year. The award also symbolizes hundreds of hours put forth by our training team. Powered by next-generation technology, they help our new technicians – and customers – thrive.

Reaching a Milestone in Retail Deployments

A moment three years in the making, our service technicians installed the 1,000th automated pickup solution. In addition, these automated smart lockers now expedite pickup for customers of major retailers in nearly all 50 states. As the installation of the 1,500th unit nears, it marks a successful relationship together with several leading retailers. It also highlights the strength of our technicians and remote monitoring infrastructure to keep these machines running at 99% uptime.

We’re Hiring!

Bell and Howell is expanding our BH QuickCollect™ portfolio at record speed, while also breaking into new markets like retail pharmacy, high-value item pickup and storage, and grocery. To keep up with our continued growth, we’ve hired 160+ members to the team in 2019 as a result. Each new team member dedicates 100% to providing an overall exceptional customer service experience to our valued customers.

With this year in review, we want to thank every member of the Bell and Howell family for a successful 2019.

Stay tuned as even greater things are coming in 2020!
