At Bell and Howell, we strive for the highest standards of corporate responsibility in all we do – supporting and empowering our employees, giving back to our communities, and being the best corporate citizen possible.
A Dedication to Service and Connection
We are passionate about serving our employees and giving back to our local communities. We volunteer at local non-profit organizations; we organize annual food and blood drives and we regularly donate to local and national charities.
We empower our employees with several resource groups, corporate-sponsored programs, and company-driven activities to ensure everyone has the opportunity to connect, share ideas, and have a voice.
Connecting for a Cause
Our Out of the Cubicle committee coordinates several employee activities every year. This corporate-sponsored committee encourages employee engagement through holiday gatherings, weekly bike groups, bowling leagues, flag football games and charity events – all designed to bring employees together.
We are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse culture. Recently we launched an employee-led resource groups initiative, where employees can network internally, discuss unique ideas and solutions, and create opportunities for mentoring and career development. Our first employee resource group, Women and Black Americans as Leaders, works to advance the discussion around diversity, equity, and inclusion.
In addition to our annual financial donations to organizations like BailaCura, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and several Veteran support organizations, we also drive several outreach programs throughout the year, including our holiday Angel Tree program and seasonal food drives.
We also work with the COST4WAKE department at Wake County Human Services to provide 100+ holiday Angel Tree gifts for children in foster care during the holidays. During our annual food drives, we donate both food and money to the Food Bank of Eastern and Central North Carolina, providing over 15,000 meals to those in need.
Throughout the year we encourage our team members to give back to the communities in which they live. From volunteering at a school and providing virtual mentoring, to packing diapers and backpacks for at-risk children and serving lunches, our people regularly volunteer and provide financial support to help out local food banks and other organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the Diaper Bank of North Carolina, and many others.
Bell and Howell also works with local schools and universities to provide hands-on engineering workshops for students to explore new market opportunities together, foster innovation and embolden the next generation of engineers to think outside of the box.
