Raptor Series

High-performance Print and Apply Labeling System

The Raptor series from Bell and Howell represents the next step in the evolution of Bell and Howell’s line of high-performance labeling systems and delivers a dramatic improvement in throughput, efficiency and maintainability. Building on many of the innovations – including the use of liner-free label stock – from its predecessors in the Signature family, the Raptor has doubled the throughput, extended the dynamic range of package sizes accommodated, and dramatically improved its serviceability.

Designed for Maximum Throughput

The Raptor lets you process twice as many products – up to 70 packages per minute – compared to other variable height print and apply labelers due to a number of innovations

  • The complete printer and applicator assembly moves to accommodate the varying height (up to 36") of each product
  • High performance printer delivers 14 inches per second for ANSI grade A/B barcodes
  • Patented and proven high speed label cutter is self-sharpening and auto lubricating
  • Unique label-on-label mode allows standard label stock to be used to apply return label, packing slip and shipping labels in a stack, eliminating the labor, cost and poor reliability of alternatives

Efficient and Easy to Maintain

The Raptor allows you to maximize uptime, minimize waste, and accommodate highly variable production line with a number operator-friendly innovations

  • Modular components may be replaced in minutes, and label rolls can be changed under 1 minute
  • Large, liner-free label stock provides 80% more labels per roll, so you won’t have to change them very often
  • Apply dynamically variable length labels with a single, eliminating the need for dedicated units for each label size
  • Pivoting design allows print and apply mechanism to be easily adjusted and serviced

Environmentally Friendly

Because Raptor uses liner-free label stock, there is no liner to dispose of. And because it produces a simple linear label cut (no die cut), there is no wasted material between labels. The result is a much more environmentally friendly operation that can be incorporated into your green initiatives.

Ready to Integrate into Your Operation

Bell and Howell’s Raptor labelers are available in several configurations – high speed top apply, standard speed top apply and side apply. And due to the system’s high throughput, is is possible to create 1:1 redundancy with two systems on a high speed line, with no reduction in performance.

The Raptor is easily integrated with industry standard cameras, scanners and scales. Leveraging decades of high-speed sorting implementations, Bell and Howell can readily integrate with external systems to retrieve real-time label data, support high speed tracking and data transfers and perform intelligent exception handling.
